Meet the Team
Gala joined ODEF in 2010 and is a trustee. She is a retired head teacher with a wealth of management experience. Gala chairs the ODEF Staff and Resources Committee and is an active member of the Feel Good Foods project.
Shelia joined the Core Group in 2015 and is an active member of the Feel Good Foods project where she brings her considerable horticultural skills to good use. She is involved with many community activities and is a hard working supporter of local initiatives.
Paul is a long serving member of ODEF who has a background in business and he brings his experience and skills to many of ODEF’s projects. Paul was a founding director of the Sherwood Energy Village which was responsible for regenerating the former colliery site at Ollerton.
Richard has lived locally for the last 30 years and has a background in the heavy industry. He is now a supervisor for an unpaid work team in Nottingham. Richard has a keen interest for gardening and nature, especially bird life, and is a valuable volunteer on our Feel Good Foods project. Richard joined the ODEF Core Group in 2016 as a trustee.
Gemma joined ODEF in 2016 as an apprentice administrator. She previously worked in health and social care, supporting adults with disabilities. Gemma decided to transition into the business sector and chose ODEF so she could give back to the community that she is local to.
Sonya joined ODEF in 2013 and is the senior ranger. Following her graduation in Environmental Management, Sonya has pursued her career in the countryside using her considerable skills to good use. She is currently responsible for managing the teams of volunteers that work on conservation and woodland management as part of the Wild Sherwood programme.
Clare joined ODEF in 2014 as a horticultural ranger. She has worked in the voluntary sector for many years and has wide experience of managing community garden projects. Clare has strong community ties and has a passion for supporting worthwhile local initiatives.
Jade joined ODEF in 2014 as a project officer after spending some time volunteering for Groundwork and working at specialist farm shop. She has a wide knowledge and experience of environmental projects and currently works on the Wild Sherwood project and the Ever Green project.
Carol has been a project officer with ODEF since 1996 and has worked on various ODEF initiatives over the years. She was involved in the early days with the formation of some most successful community projects that have since developed into independent organisations, such as Recycling Ollerton and Boughton.
David is a qualified accountant who joined ODEF in 1996. He has served as development manager for many years bringing wide experience and skills gained from his time working in the coal industry. David was at the forefront of ODEF’s regeneration agenda in the late-90’s and has helped develop many of ODEF’s most successful projects.
Roy joined ODEF in 2009 and is a trustee. He is a retired signalman and a leading campaigner for improved transport infrastructure in the local area. Roy is a long standing member of the ODEF Transport Action Team with a particular interest in restoring the rail link to Ollerton.
Rob joined us in 2011 as a Wild Sherwood volunteer and soon progressed into a full time voluntary role as a Shadow Ranger, staying with us for 3 years before moving on to paid employment. Rob re-joined us in 2016 in a paid role as a Wild Sherwood Ranger where he passes on his experience and environmental knowledge to our volunteers
